GA4 was reporting duplicate purchase conversions for a Shopify store because multiple tracking implementations—including Google Tag Manager (GTM) and legacy tracking scripts—were firing the same purchase event.
Audited the GTM container and Shopify tracking setup, removed duplicate purchase event implementations, consolidated tracking into a single source, ensured each purchase used a unique transaction_id, and validated the implementation using GA4 DebugView.

This case study is part of our Performance Optimization service offering.
Optimize every layer of your Shopify storefront to deliver faster load times and a smoother user experience. We identify performance bottlenecks, eliminate unnecessary code, optimize assets, and improve Core Web Vitals without compromising functionality.
